Looks like there might be another Hip-Hop biopic movie in the works as not only is Dr. Dre working on Detox but he, Ice Cube and Eazy E’s widow are producing a movie about the rise of N.W.A as one of the most prolific rap collectives in History. The group shot to stardom with their opinions on the LAPD and on the racial profiling of young men out in Los Angeles during the late eighties.
Handling the development of the movie which depicts the lives of Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Eazy E, MC Ren and DJ Yella in the founding years of the gangsta rap movement is New Line Cinema who have worked with Ice Cube on all his movie endeavors so far to date including the Friday series. However a director for the movie has yet to be appointed but sources are hinting that the Director behind 8 Mile, Curtis Hanson is a firm fave to take control of the movie Straight Outta Compton, titled the same as the 1988 groundbreaking album from the group.
