HipHollywood spoke with an emotional LL Cool J Friday night at a charity event in Beverly Hills, where the NCIS LA star remembered his friend, Beastie Boy Adam Yauch. “It hurts, the Beastie Boys helped me break into the business. I wouldn’t be here, talking about the things we are doing today, if it wasn’t for them. A lot of people think it’s about the fact that they were the first white rappers, but hey, those first white rappers bought into the business one of the biggest, greatest black rappers ever.”

LL hosted an event benefiting St.Vincents Meals on Wheels but recently was bestowed the honor of introducing the Beastie’s when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
