By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Just days after Wyclef Jean put hopes into a new Fugees album, Pras comes out saying the entire project is dead, thanks to Lauryn Hill. In an interview with Billboard.com promoting his new DVD about L.A.’s Skid Row, Pras shared his thoughts about the possibility of reuniting with his group. "We went in the studio and recorded a couple records that were incredible. But, to put it nicely, it’s dead," Pras told Billboard. "Me and Clef, we on the same page, but Lauryn is in her zone, and I’m fed up with that sh*t. Here she is, blessed with a gift, with the opportunity to rock and give and she’s running on some bullsh*t? I’m a fan of Lauryn’s but I can’t respect that." In meantime, Pras is promoting “Skid Row”, a documentary where Pras lives as a homeless man for nine days in L.A.’s Skid Row. The film opens on August 24 in L.A., New York and Washington D.C. He’s also a prepping a new album, “Experience,” due out near the end of the year on Sony BMG.

By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Havoc has been one half of Mobb Deep and the man behind the group’s sound for over 14 years, but has never released a solo project. Now the Queensbridge producer is finally dropping that debut, “The Kush”, on September 18. “I was always ready (to drop a solo-album), but the reason why it took me so long is because the timing wasn’t right,” Havoc said. “I was always working on Mobb Deep material and working with other artists and I used alot of the material I was going to use for a solo-LP for Mobb Deep records. Basically, ‘The Kush’ is dark and gutter, I really wanted to go that direction.” Don’t expect a bunch of appearances on the album either. Only Prodigy and new cats 40 Glocc, Un Pachino, Nyce and Nitti appear on the album, which was all produced by Havoc. “Besides Prodigy, I did not want a bunch of big stars on it, as it would have taken away from the real objective of the LP, which is grimy and down to earth,” he said. Free copies will also be handed out at his concerts. The Minneapolis artist explained: “It’s direct marketing and I don’t have to be in the speculation business of the record industry which is going through a lot of tumultuous times right now,” Prince, who register a dismal 80,000 sold copies of his last album in the U.K. Meanwhile, industry retailers are angered by the royal giveaway. Paul Quirk, co-chairman of the Entertainment Retailers Association, said the decision “beggars belief,” before adding that “The Artist formerly known as Prince should know that with behavior like this he will soon be the Artist Formerly Available in Record Stores.” Don’t you wish all artists would take the Prince approach and make music available for little to no cost?

The former host of Comedy Central’s “The Chappelle Show” was rushed to a Los Angeles emergency room and was released hours later. Despite rumors that Chappelle may have been on drugs, his publicist insists that the 33-year old comic was fatigued. “It was exhaustion, he had been traveling,” said Carla Sims, who wouldn’t comment any further on the issue. Chappelle made headlines back in 2005 when he walked away from a $50 million contract with Comedy Central, citing creative differences.

Within the last few years a little bit of animosity rose between the two camps after, what The Clipse say, “the streets said Wayne was biting the Clipse.” The duo also had a few thoughts on Lil Wayne (and fans) calling himself a legend and the greatest rapper alive. “If you Wobble Dee Wobble Dee, you can’t be a legend,” Malice told Laced Magazine in the interview which was previewed at RealTalkNY.net “You can’t kiss other men, you can’t wobble dee-wobble dee, and you can’t bite styles,” Pusha T added.“You can’t bite everybody’s styles. You can’t try to rap like Jay-Z, dress like the Clipse, become a coke dealer after 5 albums, and now dress like Jim Jones. You can’t do all that and be a legend. You have to be a trendsetter and he ain’t setting any trends.” The Clipse also announced that they’re working on a movie, “Hell Hath No Fury.” The film will be about the group’s hiatus after “Lord Willin’” up until last year’s album “Hell Hath No Fury.” The film will be directed by “Shottas” helmer Cecil Vera.

Blige, will.i.am, and Paul Simon. "When I came up with The Fugees, I believed we always had an international statement," he told Channel News Asia. "But for Carnival II I felt that this music had to be a great representation of the music heard at every corner of the globe. This is serious business so we wanted to do it right and not just work with samples as some previous artists have done. I never sacrifice culture before pop music just to follow what’s hot. If I do four or five songs in my lifetime that hit the charts, I always think ‘will these songs stand the test of time?’ That’s what the guys who invented hip-hop thought of, focusing on culture and not just diamonds or pearls." When asked about the possible Fugees reunion, Wyclef said he’s in the same boat as fans wondering if it will ever happen. "The Fugees are like the hip-hop Beatles, so anything that’s so good like that comes with a lot of drama and baggage, you know what I’m saying?," he laughed. “I hope The Fugees can do another record, I’m giving them four years to get their act together and get it done before I go back to Haiti for good!"

According to her rep, dehydration was to blame for the incident; Kelly was performing outdoors in the sun. She was rushed to a Lagos hospital, where we assume the Doctor prescribed a glass of water and sent home. The 26-year old R&B star was in Nigeria to plug her new album, Ms. Kelly. The event was also part of Nigeria’s ThisDay Music Festival, which featured additional performances by Shakira and Rihanna Kelly Rowland is now on her way back to Houston, TX, where there’s an infinite supply of cold water.

The rapper-turned-singer-turned-actress said it has been her dream to establish a FatBurger for years. "That was part of my LA education,” said the 37-year old Queen. “On Sundays in California everybody would come out in all these low-riders. FatBurger was, like, the centerpiece for it all.” In related news, Queen Latifah is starring with the new musical Hairspray, alongside Amanda Bynes, Michelle Pfeiffer, and John Travolta, among others.
