Diddy’s ‘Raisin in The Sun’ to Hit TV

By Quibian Salazar-Moreno A few years ago, Diddy hit Broadway as part of the “A Raisin in the Sun” cast alongside Phylicia Rashad, Sanaa Lathan and Audra McDonald. The Broadway show received critical acclaim and apparently, Diddy didn’t do half bad. So earlier this year a television version of the Broadway play was produced with everyone resuming their roles including Diddy. Of course, they couldn’t count Diddy all the way out since he also helped produce the telepic through Bad Boy Worldwide with Sony Pictures TV and Storyline Entertainment. The telepic will premiere on February 25 on ABC after the telecast of the 80th Academy Awards. For those unaware, “A Raisin in the Sun,” is play by Lorraine Hansberry that tells the story of a family living and struggling on Chicago‘s South Side in the 1950s.

And Weezy Has a Stalker..

By: Hot Gossip Gal …just what every man wants..the attention of Superhead. Here is what she has to say about Weezy in her recent interview with Essence "He’s not my boyfriend, but I’m closer to Wayne and we’ve spoken every day for the last six months. I can’t start or end my day without talking to him. And we don’t necessarily talk on the phone, but we text each other all the time. It’s a perfect relationship. He knows that no matter who he’s with and vice versa, we love each other. We don’t have any surprises. If I were to see him kissing a girl tomorrow, it would be okay because I already know about it." Girl please…how many times you played this song??? IS she trying to say that if Weezy wanted her as his girl he wouldn’t be able to have her? Please..this chick knows these dudes want only one thing from her and she tries to play it like she has the upper hand in these ‘jump off’ situations. Karrine you just aren’t wifey material ma.

They added that a new album is also in the works, to be released via Cash Money. DPG’s last disc, Dogg Chit, was released in March via Daz’s DPG Recordz in conjunction with Koch Records. Dogg Chit, which was conceived as a sequel to the classic Dogg Food, only managed to sell 12,000 units in its opening week.

Method Man Sentenced to High School

By: Rizoh Method Man is joining the back-to-school hustle this fall, as part of a plea deal from his DUI charges. After being arrested for marijuana, the Wu-Tang vet didn’t want to spend his valuable time in prison so he copped a plea deal. Meth, whose career has been largely synonymous with huffin’ and puffin’, will now work with prosecutors on a city-wide tour of high schools to warn kids about the dangers of drug abuse. Mef Man’s attorney boasted that his client is “thrilled to do it,” adding that he “never been in trouble before. He’s not a stereotypical rapper.” The 36-year old rapper was arrested in May after police found marijuana inside his SUV. He was consequently charged with DUI and drug possession, but prosecutors reduced the drug charges to disorderly conduct as part of the plea deal.

Mos Def Don’t Play With The Paparazzi

By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Since the Mighty Mos Def reps Brooklyn and New York to the fullest, he’s not used to the paparazzi’s flashing cameras in his face, so he took matters into his own hands. In footage caught by a TMZ.com cameraman, Mos is seen trying to talk the photographer out of keeping his picture. “I’m not used to that, I’m from Brooklyn and I’m not for that,” Mos told the photog. “If someone put their hand in my face, I respond like someone is putting their hand in my face. You put you camera in my face and I don’t know you, and it has nothing to do with this town or what I do for a living, it’s a matter of respect. So I’m asking you man-to-man, please erase my photo because I don’t know you like that.” The courageous heavy-set photog flat out said “No.” Then one of Mos’ boys tried to be quick and grab the dudes camera, but he wasn’t letting go. Mos then jumped into the fracas for a moment before he realized that cameras were filming him and tried to explain himself. “I’m not trying to damage nothing or hurt him,” Mos explained. “I asked him nicely to erase my photo.” CLICK HERE TO VIEW

50 Cent Disses Lil Wayne, Birdman, Jimmy Iovine

By: Rizoh 50 Cent has a history of dissing rappers right on the heels of a new album release. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise to that Fif has now unleashed two different tracks hauling verbal slugs at everyone from Jimmy Iovine to Lil Wayne. 50’s latest diss, “Part Time Lover,” takes aim at Lil Wayne and Baby. “It’s more than your body baby; damn it’s your brain. You make me wanna kiss you like Baby kissed Wayne,” quips 50 on the song, “and make you call me ‘daddy’ like Baby do Wayne. Damn this shit sounds gay it’s insane. I guess that’s the price the lil n***as pay for fame.” Another dissfest titled “Southside” finds Curtis flipping his Interscope boss the middle finger. “Think Jimmy Iovine my boss? F*ck Jimmy Iovine!,” barks 50, “I’m from 134th Street — I ain’t got no motherf*ckin’ boss.” CLICK HERE TO LISTEN

Raekwon Puts Cuban Linx 2 On “Freeze”

By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Even though Raekwon’s “Only Built for Cuban Linx II,” was promised a 2007 release it looks like it might be early 2008. In a recent interview with Billboard.com, Raekwon said that he had to put his solo album on “freeze” because he had to work on the new Wu-Tang Clan album, “8 Diagrams,” due out November 13, which is also the third anniversary of Ol Dirty Bastard’s death. "I guess RZA stressed to the people he had to about how much that date meant to us," Raekwon told Billboard.com. "It’s like just thinking about our brother, just wanting to keep him around us mentally, y’know?" Rae did say that Cuban Linx 2 is 99 percent finished and will feature production from Dr. Dre, RZA, and J. Dilla. For the moment however, he’s currently promoting his new group, Ice Water, whose debut album, “Raekwon Presents… Ice Water: Polluted Water,” drops on August 28. The album features appearances from Method Man, Busta Rhymes, Three 6 Mafia, Jagged Edge and others.

Mary J Blige Pregnant I heard that the Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul is pregnant. Want to offer up congrats to Mary and Kendu…
