By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Earlier this year, will.i.am was on top of the world with producing hits for Fergie and getting some critical love for the beats he did for Common and Nas. So when it came time to drop his album, it was destined to blow, right? Well, during its first week on shelves, will’s album “Songs about Girls” only moved 21,000 copies and only 47,108 copies to date. Interscope Records plans to re-release the album “We went with the wrong single and it sold nothing,” an Interscope Records insider told Entertainment Weekly. “We would’ve been in better shape if we had pulled the album, because to relaunch it is harder.” The re-released album will drop in early 2008 and have an additional three songs added to it. The label will start a brand new marketing campaign behind the album.
By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Bow Wow hasn’t done a show since December 6, when his people announced that he was taken to a hospital for “stress and exhaustion” but would return to his tour soon. Then a press release later said that Bow Wow was actually taken to the hospital because his appendix was infected. Well, according to Bow Wow, none of those things are true. The rapper said he actually cut his hand and needed to get stitched up. "I got stitches in my finger," Bow Wow told MTV News. "It ain’t nothing, man. Stress? Yeah, of course, that’s normal. But right now, no, I’m not [exhausted]. I just went to the hospital for medical issues. I fainted, fell out. Hopefully everything will get right. I’m taking my medication, everything is gonna be cool. We’ll see if I have to have surgery as of right now, [but] I’m feeling fine. I’ll probably wind up getting further tested after the tour wraps up. I don’t want to get surgery right now if that’s not [necessary]. The official medical reason is I lost a lot of blood in my hand. I hit something and cut my hand. It would not stop bleeding. I lost a lot of blood, went onstage, put out a lot of energy, came off, got light-headed. I fainted, went to the hospital, threw up and then they told me my white blood cells were higher than what they’re supposed to be. They were looking at my appendix. I’ve always had stomach issues. I’ve always had stomach problems. But like I said, we’re gonna see if it’s that serious that I have to take that surgery. If that’s what I gotta do, that’s what I gotta do. The appendix is a life- threatening thing." Right now Bow Wow and Omarion are on the road in select cities promoting their collaboration album, “Face Off”. They do plan on having a specific “Face Off” Tour this summer that will go nationwide.

For The Kids – The 2nd Annual Christmas Toy Fund Raiser For the second year both 215hiphop.com and the Philly rap group OuterSpace (of the crew Army Of The Pharaohs) return to join forces and raise both money and toys for underprivileged children in Philly. The event is happening downstairs of the Khyber in Old City with a $10 entry fee, or $5 with an un wrapped toy. We then take all the toys to then distribute ourselves with the help of MC Planetary’s (of OuterSpace) brother, who works for Democracia U.S.A. (www.democraciausa.org ) Rafael is able to contact families who have recently been laid off before the holidays, on welfare, or living through extreme poverty, and give them an invitation to receive the toys. All of the artists, DJ’s, and organizers donate there time and receive no payment for any of their involvement for this fundraising event. With the profits of the cover charge we then buy more toys, gift certificate’s(for teenagers), food & drinks to hand out at a local government office in North Philly at 2nd & Leigh. Last year we rose over $3,000 worth of toys and this year we have a goal to reach of over $5,000 worth of toys, and affect as many families as we can! By: Rizoh Snoop Dogg is busy working on his next album and his new reality show at the same time, but he’s never too busy to do some charity work. Snoop will take time off his busy schedule to host his third annual benefit concert this Sunday (Dec. 16) at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. The concert is geared towards raising funds for the Snoop Youth Football League (SYFL), a football league created by Snoop to help kids stay off the streets and out of trouble. Proceeds from the benefit concert will go towards the purchases of new league uniforms and equipment, as well as food and transportation, for their upcoming Snoop Bowl. Comprised of twelve chapters, the SYFL was established to give inner-cit youths an opportunity to participate in organized sports. The league has grown over the years, and Snoop credits that growth to his team’s commitment and hard work. “I am as committed to the SYFL as I am to any of my other interests,” says Snoop, “it ranks as high, if not higher than the others for me. The kids in the league depend on me to keep it going and giving 100% of the sales from this concert is my way of making it happen for all of them.” The league seeks to empower kids with a sense of discipline, while giving them a positive alternative to the negative influences on the streets.

By Quibian Salazar-Moreno The music world is a really forgiving place. Just five years ago, R. Kelly was slapped with child pornography charges stemming from a video tape that allegedly had him doing the do with an underage girl. Fast forward to 2007, R. Kelly’s career is soaring, he’s making hit songs and contributing to other artists’ hit songs as well. But activists in Los Angeles aren’t having it. They’re organizing a protest against Kelly during his L.A. show on Friday at the Forum. "It’s like pulling teeth to get people to talk about this," L.A. activist Jasmyne Cannick told the L.A. Times. "It’s a challenge to get the black community to even discuss it. . . . They’re acting like he doesn’t have 14 counts of child pornography against him. . . . We’re all acting like we don’t have daughters and nieces and little sisters. Everyone is making money, and everyone seems OK with him. People really need to wake up." Kelly’s case is still in the books but has been hampered by constant delays. A new trial date has yet to be announced, but Kelly faces 15 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
By Quibian Salazar-Moreno It’s been a pretty good year for Jay-Z. he dropped a well-received album, his Def Jam artists Rihanna, Kanye West, and Ne-Yo have been blowing up all year and the label earned 26 Grammy nominations. But his contract as president and CEO Def Jam Records ends at the end of the month and there has yet to be announcement if he will be back or not. “I don’t know. We’ll see how it goes,” Jay-Z told Entertainment Weekly. “But seriously, it’s not about money. That’s really the last thing. Of course, as a person that does these type of things and puts his heart and soul into it — and it’s effective, as the Grammys would indicate — you want to be compensated for what you do. But it’s really not about money. It’s really about the future of the music business, and not wasting anyone’s time. I don’t ever want to sit in a seat just to sit in a seat. I could be off doing something else that’s beneficial to the future of the music business as well as myself. So it’s not about money! I mean, you couldn’t pay me enough. And I don’t mean that in a cocky way.” Jay-Z said that negotiations are currently under-way and refutes the New York Daily News story that says talks stalled because of money. There’s no word on what Jigga’s next project is.
By: Hot Gossip Gal Rihanna Flaking Peeps in the UK are not impressed that Rhianna has canceled three of her shows in the UK, The Bajan Princess of Pop was probably so over excited about being nominated for six Grammies she fell down and twisted her ankle again. Bless her…although she has to be smiling smugly as Jayonce was only nominated for one. Anyhow the Brits aren’t happy but I mean really why would they be when their boy took a hammering in Las Vegas the other night too. …sike.
By: Rizoh An invasion of privacy case filed against Dr. Dre by former Detroit officials has ended up in judge’s trash bin. The suit accused Dr. Dre (born André Young) of invading privacy by videotaping a conversation without the knowledge of the officials. In what the Detroit Free Press dubbed a :surprise ruling,” A Wayne county judge dismissed the case in which ex cops and the press secretary for former Mayor Dennis Archer accused Dre of improperly videotaping a backstage conversation at a concert way back in 2000. Judge John A. Murphy ruled that the city workers had no reason to assume the conversation was private.
