By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Wyclef Jean is currently promoting his new album, “Carnival Volume II (Memoirs of an Immigrant)” which hits stores today. He’s doing a handful of interviews and one of the most popular questions he gets is, of course, about Lauryn Hill and the Fugees reunion that never happened. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Wyclef shared what it was like to go on tour with L-Boogie last year in Europe. “Man, it was like pulling thirty-two teeth out of my mouth,” Wyclef told Rolling Stones. “You can’t be on a stage an hour and a half late, like she was. So I blew up on, like, the tenth night. Cursed her out. I was like, ‘Listen, either you want to fucking do this shit, or I’m going to fucking go home.’ I felt sorry for her, because I think she needs psychiatric help. I felt like she’s bipolar. You can’t get angry with someone who’s sick. So I even called her mom, and I stressed to her, ‘Yo, you need to get her psychiatric help.’ But I think they all fear her to death. She wasn’t always like this — but if someone has the ego and you keep feeding the ego, it’s going to turn monstrous.” Here’s the tracklisting to Clef’s new album: 1. Intro 2. Riot (featuring Serj Tankian and Sizzla) 3. Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill) (featuring Akon, Lil Wayne and introducing Niia) 4. Welcome To The East (featuring Sizzla) 5. Slow Down (featuring T.I.) 6. King & Queen (featuring Shakira) 7. Fast Car (featuring Paul Simon) 8. What About The Baby (featuring Mary J. Blige) 9. Hollywood Meets Bollywood (Immigration) (featuring Chamillionaire) 10. Any Other Day (featuring Norah Jones) 11. Heaven’s In New York 12. Selena (featuring Melissa Jimenez) 13. Touch Your Button Carnival Jam (featuring Will.I.Am, Melissa Jimenez, Machel Montano, Daniela Mercury, Black Alex, Djkout Mizik) 14. Outro
Word on the street is that Def Jam has had to Lay off dozens of employees including executives last week. Not only are they firing employees, but have offered Jay Z 10 mil to stay on as Head of the label… Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
By: Hot Gossip Gal DeHaven is now saying he is worried about his safety since speaking out about El Presidente Jay Z. I find it highly unlikely that Jay Z would want to damage DeHaven anymore than he already did in No Hook. Grown men need to stop blaming others for their lack of a situation basically.

By: Hot Gossip Gal But it has to go to Ghostface for telling Tony Yayo to ‘suck a big fat d**k’ when being asked about Yayo’s comments about Ghost not writing on his classic Supreme Clientèle. Ghost is a lil upset about a lot of things right now and once again has Def Jam forgot that he is on their roster when it comes to marketing and promotion of his new album? Looks that way…again.
By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Former Little Brother producer 9th Wonder just released his new album, “Dream Merchant Vol. 2,” a couple of months ago and now he’s gearing up to drop another. On January 29, 2008 he will drop, “The Wonder Years,” an album that will feature appearances from Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli, Q-Tip, Teedra Moses, Mos Def, Little Brother and others. "Sonically people can expect bigger sounding beats, more expansion of my sound," 9th said. "There will be an element of classic, throwback R&B, but with a current twist. With this album I’m not only defining myself, but I’m defining people in my age group. It’s not necessarily an underground or overground thing, you just want to find the music that fits you and where you are in your life right about now. That’s what The Wonder Years is for me." 9th said the purpose for this album is to make music for people in his age group that want something a bit more positive and not the everyday stuff you get on the radio. “My calling is soul music – just good for the soul and good to listen to,” 9th said. “As regular, uneventful and boring as that may sound, once you get a taste of some soul music it’s like, ‘Finally something I can listen to around my kids, something I can listen to at cookouts.’ It’s more reminiscent of the great pantheon of Black music, and I want to be mentioned in that somewhere. Somebody has to come along and join what Common and all of these other great MCs started, we really have to start looking at the situation of how we affect young Black men and women. In the past music has been used for good, music has always had a message in it, and I just want to be a part of that legacy.” Click here for his interview

By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Earlier this month Beyonce’s little sister, Solange Knowles, announced that she moved from Houston to Los Angeles and signed with Geffen Records. She’s currently working on her new album, “Just What I Want,” due out next year. The album is set to features contributions from Lil Wayne, Cee-lo, Bilal, Marsha Ambrosius (of Floetry), and Q-Tip. Solange released her debut album, “Solo Star,” back in 2003, but was getting more publicity for her 2004 marriage. At 18 she married college football star Daniel Smith and together they had a son, but in October Solange confirmed to Essence Magazine that she and Smith were divorced.
By Quibian Salazar-Moreno You might think hip-hop is having a tough time here in the United States, but that’s nothing compared to what’s going on in Iran. Hip-hop has been deemed obscene by the country and officials believe that the “cultural invasion” is diminishing the country’s hardcore Islamic values. "There is nothing wrong with this type of music in itself," said Mohammad Dashtgoli, an official for evaluation of music at the Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry, according to Breitbart.com. "But due to the use of obscene words by its singers this music has been categorized as illegal. In coordination with the police, illegal studios producing this type of music will be sealed and the singers in this genre will be confronted." Hip-hop, especially artists with social and political themes have become increasingly popular in Tehran. In the past, rap artists needed special permissions to record an album, throw a concert or perform in the country from Iran’s culture ministry, but now most requests will be denied.
By: Hot Gossip Gal Cash Money are walking proof that the Hip-Hop police is in full effect. Again a Cash Money Tour Bus was pulled over and the 124 people on board…sorry I mean the 16 people on board were hauled in on possession charges. Now Baby is saying the pound that the media is speculating the crew to be found with has been totally blown out of proportion as it was only a tiny amount of marijuana that was on the coach. Do we believe that? But one of the 16 people on the bus is said to be Baby’s wife who is only 18 years old. Baby is obviously getting his Kelly on too.

By: Hot Gossip Gal Yeah Buck has denied any truth in the rumors about him having his car stolen, jewelry taken and being beat up outside a club in TN this past weekend. Man Buck is probably one of the realest dudes in the rap game, so like he said, whoever is talking recklessly, is trying to bring him down. And that doesn’t happen. Click HERE for more info
