Impromptu freestyle session breaks out with A$AP Rocky rapping alongside Kosha Dillz and Matisyahu on the beatbox. Never underestimate this art form.
Joey Bad offers this bonus cut “My Yout” from his soon-to-drop Summer Knights EP. It sounds like he’s had Distant Relatives and The Best Of Stephen Marley playing on repeat in the headphones. Not bad and certainly a step out of the boom-bap area where he got cozy for a while. Nice to hear the Pro Era leader going for uptempo rhythms.
Lil Herb hangs on the block and drops a new clip for “Control Me,” directed by HiDef. Herb’s Welcome To Fazoland: The Movie project is on the way.
Killer Mike and El-P drop a visual for “Get It,” one of the strongest tracks off their Run The Jewels project. The video contains a bunch of footage from the duo’s North American tour.
Happy Birthday Aubrey. Or as they say in Yiddish, A freilekhn geburtstog! Or something like that. The boy from Toronto turns 27 today. Because The Internet, Childish Gambino’s upcoming album, seems like a nod to the minute-rice, 2 fast 2 furious commenting nature of the web today. All the same, the work is there. Check out his interview with Power 105′s Breakfast Club after the jump. (more…)
OVO’s PARTYNEXTDOOR drops the visual for ”Break From Toronto,” one of the standout cuts from his self-titled debut project. The track samples Miguel’s “Girl With The Tattoo.” Directed by Liam MaCrae.
These two have great comic timing together. I see movies in Nicki’s future if she can improvise and do accents this well.
Rae and Ghost are leading the Wu Tang resurgence, and even though Regis Philbin pronounces the name ‘Kae-ron’ in an early blooper, this kind of look will last more than he knows. Plus, I couldn’t think of a better nickname for Regis than “The New ODB.”
Paul Wall releases the visual for “My Lac On Vogues,” which should appear on his upcoming Check Season tape. You gotta respect the hell out of the fact that Paul Wall is forever cemented in 2005 with no plans of ever leaving. That’s what we call artistic integrity, folks.
Khaled and Rozay stop by Hot 97′s morning show to chop it up with Ebro, Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds. The discussion centers around Khaled’s Suffering From Success album, Ross’ upcoming Mastermind LP, Reebok, Khaled and Ross’ relationship and more. Towards the end, Ross reveals that his next single is dropping at the beginning of November and will feature Jay Z.
