At the Comedy Central Roast to Flavor Flav, Snoop Dogg joked, “Flav is extra crispy.”  How right he was.  Today, the Public Enemy hype-man announced his latest business venture – a fried chicken restaurant in Clinton, Iowa with business partner and restaurateur, Nick Cimino.  Apparently that Flavor Of Love money didn’t go a long way because Flav recently began selling 99 cent chicken wings at the Cimino family’s restaurant, Mama Cimino’s, in Las Vegas.  “When the (Cimino) family first met me, it was automatically love at first sight,” remarked Flav.  Nick approached Flav with the idea of opening a business, Flav’s Fried Chicken, in his hometown, and the rest is history.

Although Flav resides outside of Clinton and basically said it was in the middle of nowhere, he plans frequent visits.  “I don’t want to be just known to have a spot,” Flav said. “You’re going to find me in here working. You’re going to be catching me seasoning my chicken, flouring my chicken, frying up my chicken, and not only that, but serving my chicken to my people.”  Believe it or not, Flav graduated from cooking school in 1978 and has worked as the head chef at several restaurants prior to his rap carreer.  Flav’s Fried Chicken opens for business today.  This marks the latest Hip Hop/poultry venture as Jay-Z launched a Buffalo Wing spot in Brooklyn with his mother two weeks ago.
