When Chickenheads Come Home to Roost: A Hip-Hop Feminist Breaks It Down, by Joan Morgan, discusses hip hop from a black woman’s perspective. The book shares how some women (“chickenheads”) exploit themselves for monetary gain and how this affects the black community at large.

Well, I guess it is time to brush up on my reading.
When I first started reading your list, I had doubts as to whether you would be able to give us 10 quality titles. I have to admit you did and it’s not that easy!
I actually read the Anthology of Rap. It’s gonna be a little boring, but you learn a lot from it.
I love Dan Charnas’ book. It is instructive to all small business owners, not just those involved in hiphop.
I have Book of Rap Lists. That’s one funny book.
