All raps, no singing.

Through resolve and passion, Kenny Beats has emerged as a preeminent producer in today’s saturated landscape. No matter the featured rapper, Kenny has an uncanny ability to tailor the instrumental to their unique identity, perfectly capturing their personality and quirks with a bespoke soundscape. But Kenny’s endeavors don’t stop at music — it structures other ones, too.

Kenny’s YouTube series, The Cave, is a barebones show featuring the music construction process — and funny commentary — between the “Whoa Kenny” producer and an artist. With one successful season under his belt, which birthed Zack Fox’s wildly-funny “Jesus Is The One,” Kenny is back in full-effect for season two. On the latest episode, the Grammy-nominated 6lack stopped by The Cave.

Throughout their 13-minute episode, at 6lack’s request, Kenny curates a progressive boom-bap-type beat that encapsulates the Atlanta artist’s soulful charisma. Removing his singing cap for this episode, 6lack goes in over the horn-accented production with an off-top freestyle that has him standing toe-to-toe with some of the industry’s most respected rappers.

The 6lack episode is the second of the season, following Danny Brown’s premiere (which is absolutely hilarious).
