Mariah Carey revealed on Larry King Live that she has also been affected by abuse in relationships:
“Abuse has several categories. Emotionally, mentally, in other ways. I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in — if your situation is similar to one of the situations I’ve been in, which I won’t harp on. For me, to really get out, it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage but a business thing where the person was in control of my life.”
Mariah also feels for Rihanna’s terrible situation with Chris Brown:
“I was very sequestered, as you know, when I first started out and if I were just allowed to be young and with a young boyfriend who’s also a star and you know, you’re working and you’re both — I don’t know what goes on. You know what I mean? So it’s like, I wasn’t really allowed out of the house, so I can’t imagine what she went through.”
mariah shows what she’s feeling out for rihanna. although this has nothing to do with her, she is also a woman and with same experience, i guess she will be a perfect adviser.
mariah’s right, you cannot just escape right away into a situation wherein you are still attached with the person.
did mariah also went through the same as rihanna? oh, that could be the sad part of mariah and for sure she don’t wanna go back to that phase anymore.
i hope mariah and rihanna would make a difference to all those women who are abused by their partners. obviously, they can give the most effective advice that would base on their experiences.
celebrities are no excuse for this kind of abuse and i am shocked to know that mariah had went on this situation too.
