jGersonSomehow I missed the BET Awards last night (nah, I really didn’t care about it), but I was able to find the cyphers, AKA the most important part of the show. While this year’s cyphers were nowhere near as impressive as the 2009 ones, Royce Da 5’9″, Kuniva (of D12), Big Sean, and Kanye elevated the rhyme duals to a higher level (“too many Urkels on your team, that why your win’s low” – Kanye). I was actually real surprised by how nice Sean was because I rarely like his music. Having DJ Premier on the one and two’s is always a nice touch, but the obvious Sprite product placement was sort of corny. I’ve got to say that Diggy is leading the pack compared to Ice Cube’s sons (that line about Nicki Minaj is hilarious). Check out the cyphers below and let me know what you think.
