Over half a million people congregated at the Lincoln Memorial yesterday in the Nations capital as various celebrities and performers took to the stage as celebrations for the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States commenced. Performing at the We Are One concert was a star studded list of people who have supported the Chicago Senator since he embared on this monumental journey which is far from over.
Beyonce wowed the crowd with her rendition of America the Beautiful and was joined on stage by all those who performed, read and spoke about the President Elect and what his appointment means to not just the United States of America, but to the world.
Barack Obama will be sworn in tomorrow at noon as an estimated two million people descend on Washington DC to watch the ceremony live as billions watch all over the world. DC is secured by a police force of 45,000 during these events.
