After a stagnant couple of weeks of album releases, I’m finally back to bring you some insight with this week’s album sales.  Tyga just may be YMCMB’s new golden child as his debut, Careless World: Rise of the Last King, landed at the number 4 spot on the Billboard 200.  Despite recall drama surrounding an unauthorized Martin Luther King, Jr. sample, Careless World persevered with over 60,000 units scanned during its opening week.  It’s worth mentioning that an overwhelming majority of sales were digital, which suggests next week’s sales figures will show an increase in physical sales as his label intends to let loose an influx of CDs to replace the recalled units.  Chiddy Bang wasn’t too far behind Tyga, as the duo’s official debut, Breakfast, debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200.  Like Careless World, Breakfast earned most of its scans through digital sales, although this is most likely because there is a lack of physical product in the marketplace.  One of the most successful releases of the week came from an artist that you most likely have never heard of.  Christian rapper Json released his fourth studio album, Growing Pains, to over 2,100 digital sales.  Growing Pains features fellow Christ rap mainstay, Lecrae.  Check below for all sales figures and check back next week for first weeks sales from Too $hort, WZRD, Estelle, and more.

Tyga “Careless World: Rise of the Last King” – 61,231 (83% digital)

Chiddy Bang “Breakfast” – 30,615 (98% digital)

Json “Growing Pains”– 2,173 (100% digital)

J. Stalin “Bottom Of The 9th” – 442 (35% digital)
