Detroit 2 drops Friday.

Big Sean is in full-on album mode. The GOOD Music artist has been teasing Detroit 2 for a little while, culminating in its Nipsey Hussle-assisted lead-off single, “Deep Reverence,” which dropped last week. Today, Sean Don is back giving fans a taste of what’s to come with the LP’s second single, “Harder Than My Demons.”

Combining soulful and trap production elements, the Mike WiLL instrumental dictates the pace for Big Sean’s dense, rapid-fire bars, which cascade over the vibrant beat. The Detroit legend uses “Harder Than My Demons” to not only continue showcasing his revered pengame, where he speaks on overcoming the demons’ whispers cradling his ears, but also demonstrates his eclectic sonic pallett, as he switches from hard-hitting rhymes to delicate singing; this versatility mirrors the instrumental’s dynamic nature.

It’s been three-years since Big Sean released a solo studio album (I Decided.), but with the artillery he’s coming with on these first two singles, it sounds like Sean’s making up for lost time with Detroit 2

Be on the lookout for Detroit 2 dropping on September 4th.
