That energy though.

Meek Mill recently released his well-received album, Wins & Losses, compete with a star-studded tracklist including guys like like The Dream, Lil Uzi Vert, and Chris Brown. While they all added a unique edge to this project, one individual seems to work particularly well with Meek: Young Thug. The two teamed up on “We Ball”, and previously on “Offended” off Meek’s DC4 project. Looks like they really enjoy one another’s company, because they’re at it again.

Previously announced that he and Thug were a new group called Young Martha, Thugger and DJ Carnage have been collaborating for some time, and now we finally get to hear the fruits of their labor. For their premiere track, Young Martha tapped Meek Mill for the energetic banger, “Homie”.

Part of Thug’s allure is his ability to diversely contort his voice. Sometimes we hear him sing in a high pitch, other times he’s rapping articulately. For “Homie”, he brought the severely horsed flow drenched in dark energy. It almost sounds like Thug is trying to match the energy that Meek typically brings to a song, adequately complementing the Philly spitter’s intensity. Meek brings his staple passion to the track, matching the intensity of DJ Carnage’s production.
