arenasGilbert Arenas was sentenced this afternoon in a Washington D.C. courthouse.  Arenas will serve 30 days in a half-way home, followed by two years of probation and 400 hours of community service.  Arenas will also be fined $5,000, the balance of which will be donated to Victim of Violent Crimes Fund.  Arenas, who avoided jail time with this sentence, is being punished for his role in, what he describes it as, a prank that got out of hand; he and Wizards teammate Javaris Crittenton both brandished firearms in the team locker room as the result of a gambling debt.  Arenas has lucked out (and potentially had his career saved) with this decision, and hopefully it means the Hibachi man will be back in action for next season.
