Lil Yachty is having a moment. On top of silencing haters with an unprecedented, unconventional rise, Lil Boat also recently hit an incredible commercial milestone: earning 2.5-billion streams. With his brand power at its height, and showing no signs of slowing, Yachty is in the rare position of piquing interest from a host of brands and media sources. Most recently, he was featured in Complex’s Sneaker Shopping out in LA.
Sneaker Shopping host, Joe La Puma, took the “One Night” emcee to supplement his kick collection at LA’s Flight Club—the premiere sneaker destination. In typical Yachty fashion, he conducted himself with his indisputable positivity, from introducing the segment to selecting his favorite kicks. When watching Yachty, it’s difficult to not absorb the good vibes through osmosis.
During the interview, Yachty detailed how many Air Jordan 1s he’s purchased, his go-to sneaker spot, his most coveted—yet unattained—sneaker, and much more. As Yachty’s star continues to soar, his brand aperture has widened to include an array of fashion opportunities. From being a hand-selected Yeezy Season 3 model, to launching a Nautica clothing line earlier this year, there’s seemingly no limit on what this kid can achieve. And I don’t think we’re going to encounter that ceiling anytime soon.
