After months of pressure from the public and media, the United States Congress has finally decided to address the Jena Six incident. The House committee on Judiciary held hearings today to discuss the case of six black teenagers in the small town of Jena, LA who were charged with the beating of a white student. The incident happened after three white kids hung nooses on a tree on a high school campus there.
African-American civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton asked Congress to expand hate crime laws to accommodate noose-hanging incidents like the one that occurred at Jena High School.

  1. That’s real talk ”chilled out”!!! That whole thing was foul as hell! See blacks be knocking al sharpton and shit, but he fighting for blackfolk dumbasess!!! If it weren’t for him, congress would have turned a blind eye!!! Cuz aint no white folk gonna stand up for us at congress!! They try and take our weapons so we won’t be able to defend ourselves when they kick our doors in!!!! Look at t.i.

  2. I am glad to see that congress is trying to take an active role in this case because it has not been taking seriously since the beginning. Incidents like the noose incident will only continue to happen if the hate crime laws are not expanded. However it is kind of sad that it took all this pressure from the media for congress to finally get involved.
