Drake Speaks On Lil Wayne’s Jail Time

In a recent interview with Rap-Up, Drake addressed his mentor Lil Wayne’s upcoming jail time. Drizzy says:

“He’s dealing with it well. Wayne’s not usually gonna open up emotionally and tell you how he’s really feeling about anything. He’s kinda more concerned about getting as much music as he possibly can, so that when he’s in there, people are still satisfied musically with Lil Wayne product, and that’s just the mind of a true businessman.”

“It’s an unfortunate situation and I hope that he’ll be able to position it where his release is a day where everyone’s excited and they’re just excited about his new album. I hope he manages to market it the right way”

Drake also explains that while Weezy is away, the Young Money army will still stay strong in his absence, saying:

“I’ll just do what I can to keep the whole Young Money/Cash Money team going, and I just want to play my part as a team member and keep the brand strong until the boss gets home.”

With Drake’s debut album “Thank Me Later” dropping as well as the Young Money debut ” We Are Young Money“, I’m sure Cash Money/ Young Money will be fine without Wayne for a year and you know all the guy is going to do in jail is write (you can’t freestyle in a cell), so when he  gets out he’ll still own the game.

  1. wayne is a true blood singer. it’s just nice to hear that he can still manage to think of the album and songs first before himself and yes that could do to businessman mentality. well, i just wish him well, things will get along someday.

  2. i love lil wayne. he sounds so cool and jammin’. it gets me so sad that he was at jail. but on the contrary i am happy for him for having great talents in his hand and still writing great songs. cheer for him!
