Featuring Ari Lennox, EarthGang, and Reason.

This past July, Dreamville and friends came through with the third installment of their Revenge of The Dreamers series. Following the December ‘15 sequel, the latest version is the J. Cole-helmed label’s most polished edition to date, complete with features from Buddy, T.I., Vince Staples, Ty Dolla $ign, and plenty more.

Rumors began swirling recently that a deluxe version was floating around the musical ether, and last night, Cole & co. began making good on that promise by dropping two new tracks, “BUSSIT” and “Still Up.”

The former features Ari Lennox in a smooth, slow-tempo R&B production that recruits her enchanting singing voice. A stark contrast to some of the trap sounds explored on the original ROTD3, Ari’s presence reinforces Dreamville’s encompassing musical command, and penchant for diversity.

Appealing to their rapper side, “Still Up” is a contribution from TDE’s Reason and resident Dreamville genre blenders, EarthGang. Contrasting Reason’s traditional rap approach with EarthGang’s novel style, “Still Up” serves as an apt microcosm for Dreamville’s overarching musical approach. The product is a textured track that proves how Top Dawg and Dreamville are driving the rap game.
