A lyrical showdown is taking place on Skyzoo's newest track. Skyzoo is joined by eLZhi for a lyrical sparring match and it's making Music for My Friends more and more of an instant purchase for me. With Young Thug on the road with Travi$ Scott for the Rodeo Tour Thugger is receiving exposure to new audiences. And as a result he and his team are leaking some new tunes. Two to be exact. The pair of "Halftime" and "Beat It" are produced by Thugger's go to producer of the moment London on da Track. No wonder as to whether or not the tracks will appear on Young Thug's Carter 6 album. eLZhi has kept quiet for a while and that's utterly disappointing for any real hip-hop head out there. Despite appearing on some notable tracks in 2014 like Phat Kat's "All Madden" and Ghostface Killah's "Gunshowers" eLZhi has been awfully silent when it comes to his solo work. But we have some good news: that will fortunately end in 2015 with the release of eLZhi's upcoming Lead Poison album. And to tease us for the new album, eLZhi is sharing "February" the first single from Lead Poison. Listen after the jump.

Toronto's experimental/jazz trio BADBADNOTGOOD have just announced a new album called Sour Soul that features Ghostface Killah on every song. Yes, every single song. Excited? Well, turn up because there's also a new track out. The track, entitled, "Gunshowers", features Elzhi and will appear on the album Sour Soul which will be out February 17. It's difficult to say anything that hasn't already been said before, as we've had exactly 20 years to process the greatness that is Nas' 1994 debut, Illmatic. Basically everything that needs to be said has already been said. Without even hearing a single beat, sample or rhyme from the album, you already know what Illmatic is. And with 20 years under its (championship) belt the acknowledgement of its greatness is brought right back up on its anniversary, including the release of director one9's Nas: Time Is Illmatic, a documentary film that chronicles the circumstances leading up to the groundbreaking record. And we here at iHipHop thought we would honor Nas' Illmatic in the only way we see fit: counting down the album's 20 absolute best lyrics. Of course, this was quite a daunting task for us seeing as there's easily more than 20 incredible, groundbreaking lyrics on Illmatic. But we tried our best. After the jump!
