His first release in four-years.

As promised, TDE is taking over this week. A few members from their camp — including one of their newest signees, Reason — tweeted that the west coast juggernaut would be flooding the internet with releases throughout the week. The first domino to fall was Ab-Soul on Monday (4/20) with his “Dangerookipawaa Freestyle,” followed by Zaccari yesterday (4/21) with both “Edamame” and “This Woman’s Work.” Right on schedule, Top Dawg’s Isaiah Rashad has continued their prolificness by releasing his new single, “Why Worry.”

This release from Rashad isn’t only a signfier of TDE’s deep, skilled talent roster — it’s also the first piece of music since his 2016 album, The Sun’s Tirade. A notoriously frustrating artist, given the fact that he’s so talented yet so frugal with his art, it’s a breath of fresh air to see Zay dust-off his mic and deliver new music — especially a song that’s damn good.

Producer Crooklin provides Isaiah with a soulful, jazzy soundscape to lace his truths over on “Why Worry”. Speaking insouciantly, Zay’s unencumbered mindstate is manifested not only in his lyrics, but also by his effortless flow that cascades over Crooklin’s production.

“Why Worry” is rumored to appear on Isaiah’s speculative sophomore album, The House Is Burning.

It’s only Wednesday, and already we’ve received stellar drops from Ab-Soul, Zacari, and Isaiah Rashad — who will be next?
