An IMAX film set to premiere this October.

The Kanye West saga is a never-ending whirlwind. To survive being a Kanye fan, becoming accustomed with the visionary’s eccentricities is now a necessity — simply, to know Kanye is to love Kanye. But we never said it would be easy.

Ye’s headline-dominating new album, Jesus Is King, has fallen victim to countless delays and changes, simultaneously tugging on our heart strings and testing our emotional durability. Yeezy’s soulful Sunday Service started the rumbling of Jesus is King’s existence; Kim Kardashian’s tweed photo of its tracklist, with the promise of a September 27th release, confirmed its impending arrival. But this past Friday came and went, and the ninth solo studio album never surfaced. However, more fuel has been added to the fire to keep fans engaged amid the Kanye circus.

It looks like a Jesus Is King documentary will be released in IMAX, premiering on October 25th.

In an IMAX press release, they stated, “Filmed in the summer of 2019, Jesus Is King brings Kanye West’s famed Sunday Service to life in the Roden Crater, visionary artist James Turrell’s never-before-seen installation in Arizona’s Painted Desert … This one-of-a-kind experience features songs arranged by West in the gospel tradition along with music from his new album Jesus Is King — all presented in the immersive sound and stunning clarity of IMAX.”

While the jury is still out on the album’s release date, hopefully the delay will be worth it with the arrival of the new Kanye documentary.

Stay tuned for more updates on both the film and album.
