There are some issues going down in Kentucky regarding Ludacris, a local promoter and a local high school. Lexington’s Bryan Station High School recently opened up a new high school building and as part of the celebration and support for music education, local promoter Jim Lunsford announced that the high school band would open up for Ludacris when he came to town on February 22, in addition to donating $10,000 worth of musical instruments for every artists he brings to Lexington.

Apparently the parents weren’t having it as they emailed pages of Ludacris’ lyrics to the school district’s superintendent Stu Silberman. Silberman then announced that the high school band will not be opening for Ludacris because of the content of his lyrics.

"We’re not trying to judge Ludacris or anything like that," Silberman told the Lexington Herald-Leader. "We’re trying to make a decision based on what we believe is best for our kids."

Which is all fine and good, but now folks are wondering if they should accept the $10,000 worth of musical instruments from Lunsford, who gets the money from tickets sales to the show.

"Everything that Ludacris stands for and talks about is specifically against Fayette County code of conduct in Fayette County Public Schools," Jack Pattie, a local radio host and father of a student at the school, said. "If you use the language he uses, you’ll get suspended. If you beat up women, you’ll be suspended. If you use drugs, you’ll be suspended."

Is it time for Luda to change it up?

  1. oooooooooooooookkkkkkkkkkkk and who the hell are they to tell Luda anything. Funny Luda’s gona drop money down for your kids and your gona say shit like that? Anyways what i have to say bout that is RRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS against hiphop and rap artist they probley want Jarule to come by (lol). Tima

  2. The actions of these parents only proves just how ignorant some people choose to be; and these are actual adults. I guess being an adult dones’t mean your not ignorant and close-minded. They are affected by hip hop whether they like it or not and I would like to think they know their kids probably listen to ludacris anyway and other artists whose lyrics are a whole lot worse. I mean how stupid can you possibly be in the 21st century.
Ignorant people shouldn’t have kids, ignorance will rub off on them. You cant teach them what’s right from wrong by trying to shelter them from the real world, you won’t succeed at what ever it is you THINK you’re trying to do. just marinate on that for a minute. and no they shouldn’t accept the money, you give up the peanut butter, u cant eat the jelly.
