Mozzy didn’t achieve his preeminence with a lacking work ethic; the Sacramento native’s talent is commensurate with his persistence and tenacity. With an established underground residency during his earlier years, Mozzy flooded the streets with mixtape after mixtape, proving that his hunger for excellence wouldn’t be satiated without achieving his deserved recognition.
Slowly but surely, Mozzy has become a household name. This past May, that pursuit for notoriety was validated by his fifth studio album, Beyond Bulletproof, peaking at number-43 on the charts — his highest-charting project to date. Several months later, and Mozzy is already preparing his next album, Occupational Hazard, with his new single, “Death Is Callin.”
The latest Mozzy offering serves as the impetus for his upcoming LP. It finds the Cali artist leaning into his west coast roots through the G-Funk basslines and deft storytelling.
