Queen Latifah’s new album drops on September 25, but don’t expect any hip-hop on there. The new album, “Trav’lin’ Light,” is a collection of jazz and blues cover songs by the likes of PeggyLee, Etta James, Sarah Vaughn, Nina Simone, Shirley Horn, Carmen McRae, Roberta Flack, Mary Wells, Phoebe Snow, and Frank Sinatra.

The album features appearances from Jill Scott, and Erykah Badu with contributions from world renowned musicians George Duke, Joe Sample and Christian McBride. Latifah will also be going on tour this fall, but expect any performances of “Ladies First.” She’ll be performing songs from the new album as well as her last jazz/soul album, “The Dana Owens Album,” which was nominated for a Grammy. 1. I also don’t care about her rapping. But folks need to expand there music. Her jazz album is very good. And I love the hardest gangster rap. So am excited about the new album! And am going to the concert in Iowa City!
