“I’m floating, floating, floating, floating, floating”

ScHoolboy Q delivered his highly-anticipated, often delayed, fifth studio album at the end of April, CrasH Talk. Filled with a medley of Q’s signature menacing sound and his lovable persona, the Blank Face LP successor distills our favorite Hoover Street Crip’s divergent capabilities into an endearing 40-minute session.

A gift that keeps on giving, Q has steadily been releasing videos from the album’s hottest tracks. Today, he drops off the visual for one of CrasH Talk’s fan favorite, “Floating” featuring 21 Savage.

Directed by Dave Free and Jack Begert, the “Floating” video is a journey through Q’s clipped eyes around various parts of L.A. Engorged with entrancing, surreal visual effects — including stop motion and hyper-sped frames — the visual is a sound embodiment of “Floating’s” message: Q’s essences permeates every facet of the Southern California city that raised and nurtured him, that made him the man he is today.

From driving passed the Staples Center on a clear night to facing blunts in the club surrounded by beautiful women, “Floating” aptly shows how wherever the action is in L.A., you can believe that Q will be there.

Unfortunately, 21 Savage doesn’t make an appearance, but his staple sound narrates multiple scenes.

“Floating” joins the other CrasH Talk videos “CHopstix” and “Numb Numb Juice.”
