D-Block is making a slow and steady resurgence to the rap game. Jadakiss has joined the Roc-A-Fella roster; Styles P just dropped his latest album via Koch Records; and Sheek Louch is set to follow suit with the upcoming release of his third independently-released album, Silverback Gorilla. Sheek’s new album, scheduled to hit shelves in March 2008 via Koch, will feature guest appearances by Jim Jones, Bun B, The Game, Fat Joe, and fellow LOX members Jadakiss and Styles P. The first single, "Keep Pushin’," is expected to invade the airwaves soon.
Silverback Gorilla arrives on the heels of Koch’s current marketing deal with D-Block Records. You may recall that the first album to be issued on D-Block Records was Sheek Louch’s 2003 solo debut, Walk Witt Me, which was followed by After Taxes in 2005. As a solo artist, Sheek has sold a cumulative 400,000 units.
General Manager and Vice President of Koch, Alan Grunblatt, describes Sheek Louch as "a successful core Koch artist" who defines gangsta rap in New York.
