Big day for Brooklyn.
The Brooklyn Drill movement — pioneered by the late Pop Smoke — has officially put New York rap back on the map. Inspired by a marriage of UK production and its Chicago Drill predecessor, Brooklyn Drill has provided the Empire State with a much-needed distinguishable identity.
Today serves as a perfect microcosm of this growing movement: Earlier, Lil Tjay dropped off his State of Emergency EP, which features a collection of burgeoning Brooklyn rappers like Fivio Foreign and J.I. The Prince Of N.Y, and now, Sheff G is back with an ominous banger on “No Suburban, Pt. 2.”
The sequel to Sheff’s 2017 track, part two continues his display of dominating energy.
