New Music: Royce Da 5’9″ and DJ Premier – “Intro” and “Courtesy”

Mark your calendars hip-hop aficionados because Royce Da 5'9" and DJ Premier have joined forces to drop PRhyme, a collaborative project due out December 9th. Initially conceived as a project between Slaughterhouse and Preem, Royce continued working with the legendary Gang Starr producer when the project fell apart. What started out as an EP developed into a full album featuring artists the likes of Schoolboy Q, Mac Miller, Common, Killer Mike, and Jay Electronica. It is hard to believe that it's been 8 years since the release of Dilated People's last album, 20/20.  The group will make its return this summer with the much-anticipated album Directors of Photography on Rhymesayers Entertainment.  Today the group unveiled the first music video from the album, "Good As Gone," which is produced by DJ Premier.  Hit the jump to check out the album's cover art which was also revealed today.

On Sunday July 28, 2013, the world renowned Rock Steady Crew held it’s 36th Anniversary celebration in Central Park, NYC. The event featured a reunion performance by Pete Rock & CL Smooth, as well as performances by Brand Nubian, Cormega, Special Ed, Craig G, The Arsonists, Homeboy Sandman and more. The show also featured DJ sets from DJ Premier, Tony Touch, Evil Dee, and DJ Eclipse, DJ JS-1. Of course, the highlight of the event was an incredible breakdance performance from the entire Rock Steady Crew. Click through this slideshow to see all of the highlights of that day’s event.
