Don't get it confused, kids, Redman's got some classics under his belt. What immediately comes to mind whenever I hear the name Redman isn't his appearance on Chappelle's Show or sleeping on a couch on MTV Cribs but for Whut? Thee Album, Muddy Waters, and his collaborations and longstanding friendship with Wu-Tang Clan's own Method Man (which spanned a great album in Blackout!) but as of late Red hasn't done much in the field of music. I guess somewhere between How High and Red Gone Wild: Thee Album, people just kinda stopped caring about Red. But hip-hop's gone through many changes since then and what with the recent East Coast revival going on, Red is in perfect position to come out with some new material -- I mean, hell, if Meth is doing it then why can't Red? So here he is, at the tender age of forty-five, Red is looking to get back into the rap game. He'll be dropping a new project in The Preload and here he's sharing the visuals for a track entitled "Somebody Got Robbed." I think I typed out enough, peep Red's "Somebody Got Robbed" video after the jump.
Donald Glover, also known as the artist formerly known as Childish Gambino, will appear on the forthcoming Magic Mike XXL film -- so get ready for plenty of Donald Glover junk in your face. You know, if that's your thing! In addition Glover will also appear on the raunchy film's soundtrack, which features cuts from Ginuwine, Jodeci, Jeremih, Jacquees, and more. The Glover cut, "Marry You," is a take on Bruno Mars' song, and has the 31-year-old entertainer challenging his inner soul. Check it out after the jump.
In Big Sean's latest visual treatment for a Dark Sky Paradise cut, "Play No Games," he's joined by hook heavyweights Chris Brown and Ty Dolla $ign. The cool thing about this video isn't that it's a song by Sean or that Brown and Ty$ were guests -- that is almost strictly reserved for the inspiration for the video, which is the Martin Lawrence starring hit show "Martin." Peep the colorful video filled with stars and cameos (Can you find 'em all?) Check out "Play No Games" after the jump.
The return of the Gorilla! Sheek Louch will be dropping his latest project, Silverback Gorilla 2, on September 18th. And to hold fans off until then, because that's quite some time away, Sheek is hitting the net with its single, "Gorilla Walk In New York." Pretty self-explanatory track: Sheek is the Gorilla and he's walkin' all over NYC. Check out "Gorilla Walk In New York" after the jump!
Slum Village have a new album out now, it's called YES! (get it on iTunes right here) and it's their follow-up to their 2013 album Evolution. They're also sharing a single featuring young stalwart emcee Jon Connor. Another dope thing worth noting about the track is it's produced by the legendary J Dilla. Peep it after the jump!
French Montana is joined by Rick Ross and Lil Wayne for "Lose It," a song that is being touted as a Gucci Mane tribute? Interesting. You know what else is interesting? That the song is produced by Kanye West (along with The Mekanicks.) "Lose It" will appear on French's upcoming album, Mac & Cheese: The Album, dropping in August. Listen after the jump.
