And hip-hop is leading the charge.

The 2019 Grammy’s are almost upon us, and today, the academy has revealed all of the categories and their respective nominees.

Reflecting hip-hop’s crescendo into music’s most popular genre, made official according to Nielsen in 2017, it is the most represented category at this year’s Grammys’, finding four out of the eight Album of the Year nominees being of hip-hop: Drake’s Scorpion, Black Panther: The Album, Post Malone’s Beerbongs & Bentleys, and Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy all received the nod.

Getting more granular, the Rap Album of the Year nominees are: Pusha T’s Daytona, Travis Scott’s Astroworld, Nipsey Hussle’s Victory Lap, the late Mac Miller’s Swimming, and Jay Rock’s Redemption.
