The Daily Dose

.

-I know my Dose’s haven’t been that Daily as of late, but hip-hop has been super weak sauce, and I don’t like forcing whack music down your throat like say MTV or Radio, but I guess I’m going to do it anyway.

.

Rich Boy what’s good?  This track isn’t gay or anything.  I’m just confused as to what he’s trying to accomplish.  I think it may have to do with the fact the record industry is in the process of collapsing on itself, and artists are realizing that the only way they are going to get any money is by making Britney Spears esque music.  I guess it’s only going to get worse before it gets better.  Someone really needs to create a new model to make money off of music before I’m forced to throw myself off a building.  I don’t know how much longer of this I can take.

So I got two cuts of off Playaz Circle‘s album Flight 360: The Takeoff.  I gave the album a quick run through, and I guess it’s ok.  It has 16 tracks, and I would say about 5-6 of them are good.  So that makes it your typical hip-hop record in 2009.  These dudes are definitely characters.  I still think Tity Boi is one of the best rapper names I’ve ever heard.  I just really wish I had a friend named Tity Boi.  Just so I could say it when I got to interact with people.  “Hey Perspective, what are you doing tonight?”, “Not much, think I might grab some beers with Tity Boi.”  You don’t know how badly I wish I had conversations like that in real life. Interview coming soon.

Also have two tracks off of Ghostace‘s Ghostdini: The Wizard Of Poetry In Emerald City.  It’s Ghostface so I think it’s humanly impossible for him to make a whack record.  I wouldn’t say it’s his best word, but it’s definitely not terrible.  Check out Serge’s review here.  As much as I love Estelle this joint Ghost did with Lloyd is much better.

If you haven’t heard Lil Scrappy signed with DTP/Def Jam, and he is dropping an album titled The Grustle on December 15th.  I actually liked Scrappy‘s album Bred 2 Die Born 2 Live that he did.  I just think the “I have tons of money” theme is a little played out.  I don’t really want to hear about it.  Plus he’s jumping on the OJ Da Juiceman bandwagon.  Come on Scrappy you’re better than that.

I think this Jada and Rakim song might be off Rakim‘s long awaited album The 7th Seal, but I have no facts to back that up.  Its obviously fire.  I doubt it’s the full version, and these mixtape companies are desperate for relevancy so they have to throw their whack tags on it.

-I don’t know much about Yelawolf, but apparently he is a white boy from Alabama that is now based out of the ATL.  He linked up with a pretty nice cut with The Chef, and you should check him out.
