The Roots set to be “Late Night” talkshow band

The Roots have agreed to be the house band of the new “Late Night” Show hosted by Jimmy Fallon.  Fallon is taking the vacant spot being left from Conan O’Brien as he steps into the role of host of “The Tonight Show” replacing Jay Leno.  This new role for the hip-hop band will take place in March 2009, forcing them to temporarily retire from touring.  Currently they are on tour in Europe.  Here are the dates:
