It’s been eleven years since Tupac Shakur was fatally gunned down, but new details of his murder are still emerging. In the latest wave of information sure to annoy Tupac faithfuls, the late rapper’s former bodyguard Kevin Hackie has revealed that he was an undercover FBI agent while employed by Death Row Records. Hackie made the revelation at a recent screening for Tupac Assassination – Conspiracy or Revenge, the new film based on Shakur’s death.
Previous media reports had labeled Hackie an FBI informant, so he deemed it fit to clarify his former occupation in law enforcement. Hackie, who now helms a security company, was employed by Suge Knight as a Death Row bodyguard between 1992 and 1996.
Tupac was killed on September 13, 1996. Death Row chief Suge Knight, who was in the car with Tupac, was also grazed by bullets at the scene.
