Statik Selektah is one of the hardest working producers in the game today.  The Boston beatsmith had a lot on his plate in 2010 and  isn’t showing any signs of slowing down for the New Year.  In 2009, Statik introduced a concept record that was the first of its kind – a full length album composed in a mere 24 hours with Saigon, entitled All In A Days Work.  On December 30th, Statik recorded an overnight EP (The Evening News) with frequent-collaborator, Termanology, and broadcasted the process through a live stream on Ustream.tv.    The stream garnered over 10,000 viewers.

On the heels of releasing The Evening News, Statik announced that he recruited Philadelphia spitter, Freeway, to record an additional EP and once again broadcast it via Ustream. The EP is set to consist of 6-7 song  and will be released for retail sale on iTunes tomorrow afternoon.  In regards to streaming the EP’s recording, Freeway told XXL we’re going to interact with the fans. If you come up with the concept while we’re listening to the beat- the fans might say something and I might throw it in a rap.”

For all those who want to see the magic happen or give Free and Stat a few suggestions, look no further than the stream below.  So far it’s been crazy, and several guests including Mac Miller have stopped by, with the duo promising more surprises before the end of the night.

Update: The stream is over.  Statik-Free is now available on iTunes
