Oh, yeah — it’s produced by J. Cole.

With just three days remaining until YBN Cordae’s debut album, The Lost Boy, fan anticipation is reaching all-time highs. Excitement for the promising young artist’s rookie release not only emanates from his impressive talents, but also from his Chance the Rapper-assisted single, “Bad Idea,” and the release of The Lost Boy’s tracklist.

Joining Chance on that decorated list are some standout names: Ty Dolla $ign, Pusha T, Meek Mill, Anderson .Paak. By sheer tracklist optics, it’s clear that Cordae’s precocious lyricallity has garnered him respect from some of the greats. Today, the 21-year-old DMV native has provided more fodder for anticipation and expectations, as he’s come through with the .Paak-assisted “RNP” — oh yeah, and it’s produced by J. Cole.

Over a funky instrumental that will instantly having you snapping your fingers and bopping your head, .Paak and Cordae dig deep to deliver soulful vocals that adhere tightly to the production’s spirit. Bringing the powers of their dynamic full-circle, Cordae and .Paak go bar-for-bar on verse four in a conversational format — somewhat reminiscent of a subdued Eminem and 50 Cent on “Gatman and Robin.”

The Lost Boy drops Friday. Check out “RNP” below:
