The man who coined the term ‘rhythm and blues’ died this morning aged 91. Jerry Wexler worked with some of the most influential stars of today and yesterday including Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles and The Drifters. It was this man’s work that built up the resume of Atlanic Records in the sixties and then Warner Brothers in the seventies.

Wexler had also been inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 for his extensive contribution to musicJerry Wexler
