Looks like the play offs are causing quite a bit of controversy all around and especially for La La Vasquez who is engaged to Nuggets player Carmello Anthony. The former MTV VJ had to vacate the game on Monday in Dallas due to unruly crowd action after having her two year old son leave the game as the crowd started to fire insults and drinks their way. La La was then splattered all across the internet thanks to this video footage shot by TMZ which was apparently posted entirely out of context. The soon to be Mrs. Anthony released a statement through her publicist (what’s up Tash) yesterday clarifying just why she had reacted the way depicted on camera.

La La Vazquez became distressed during a heated playoff game, after being verbally attacked by some opposing fans, who were using racial slurs, calling her child crude names and throwing ice cubes. She sent her son home early and was preparing to leave herself when she was physically pushed. Although shaken, she left the premises on her own will and is happy to be at home with her fiancée and child.

“Obviously the play-offs games bring out the best and the worst in fans but what happened on Monday night with the racial slurs/threats, verbal attacks on my son and physical attacks to myself by irate fans was unacceptable,” states La La. “The fans were totally out of control. What the cameras captured was me defending myself and didn’t show the abuse that was taking place.”

But it wasn’t only Ms Vasquez who felt the heat from the Maverick fans as the game also caused further controversy for Kenyon Martin’s momma too and his girl and ours Trina who were covered in beer on the Monday night game while watching their boy try to fend off the Mavericks. Mark Cuban who owns the Dallas team had already insulted Momma Martin in Game 3 on Saturday and had to issue a public apology and then only a couple of days later he was having to apologize again for the controversy surrounding La La Vasquez too. “When tempers and such start impacting the fan experience both in Dallas and Denver, and it requires special security, that’s not what I want for Mavs or Nuggets fans” he said. In regards to his verbal attack on Kenyon’s Mom he said “I should have not said anything and I was wrong. Hopefully, you will accept the apology and we can move on.”
Forget March Madness, this is May Mega madness.
