So I guess this video is already a little bit of a youtube sensation, but it was brought to my attention because Cam has sampled it on a joint with Snoop. The back story is actually kind of awesome. According to Miss Info:
“Smoking on that grand daddy/make you wanna smack your grand mammy“
- But the backstory for “Yo Momma on Ya” is even crazier….the hook and the flow is originally created by a well-known homeless guy named Red, who was first recorded by the folks at the HVW8 Art Gallery in Los Angeles. Red was living in the alley behind their gallery. His performance became a youtube favorite, and Cam actually paid for the rights to the song. But then Red disappeared! So now…Cam and Snoop are hoping that by putting out the song, someone will track down Red, so they can make sure he’s getting his money and can get in the video.
The fact that he did this acappella is so ill to me.
Also Harlem’s Cash aka Ca$he sampled this a minute ago and his version is better than Cam’s.
