By: Rizoh We’re all accustomed to seeing the dynamic duo of Timbaland and Missy on the same songs together, but that may soon change. Timbo has made it clear that even though Missy has a new album coming out, the artists on his Mosley Music Group imprint remain his priority. “I can’t make Atlantic (Records) money. Nothing personal,” Timbaland told MTV recently. We had a time and a crazy run, but I gotta get my own indie label poppin’. Missy is my sister, but I got a family: Nelly (Furtado), Keri (Hilson), One Republic. If I don’t function, then they don’t function and they can’t get their careers off.” The Virginia-bred producer will limit his contributions to a select few tracks on Missy’s The Countdown.
By: Rizoh Michyal Bell, the only member of the Jena 6 that has been tried and convicted in the beating of a white classmate, has been finally release. Bell’s release comes on the heels of a well-publicized Jena 6 protest held by thousands the previous week. Bell was originally charged with attempted murder charges and up to 22 years in prison for his role in last year’s attack which sent the victim to the hospital. Protesters at last week’s demonstration were challenging the way the cases of Bell and five other teens accused of beating fellow student Justin Barker were handled. Many said they were vexed that the students, the Jena 6, were being treated more harshly than three white students who hung nooses from an oak tree on Jena High School. The other five students are still awaiting trial.

By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Even thought he’s dropping his new album, “Songs about Girls,” this week, will.i.am has been holed up in a New York studio working with King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Although he can’t divulge specifics he’s excited and intimidated to work with Jackson. “We’re taking it day by day, we’ve finished some songs. I like what I’m doing, I’m really happy with it, but it’s not my project to talk about,” Will told Rolling Stone. “I could be talking about song titles what they sound like and be excited about it, but those songs I made may not make his record and then I look like an idiot.” And even though Will has produced joints for everyone from Nas and The Game to Justin Timberlake and Fergie, he was still nervous working with a legend in pop music. “That was the hardest thing on the planet Earth that I ever had to endure,” Will told Rolling Stone about working with Jackson. “I even said, ‘You know what, Mike? I know how to work with Justin [Timberlake]. I know how to work with Fergie. I know how to work with John Legend. I know how to work with these people, but it probably took four or five days [for me to figure it out with you].’ He’s like, ‘Why? What do you mean? Well everything you do I like.’ Because we had that conversation, I could navigate the session and not just be like, ‘Ooooh, damn, it’s Michael, oh my God,’” There’s no word on when Jackson’s project will hit store shelves.
By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Ten years ago, Master P and his No Limit Records used to be part of the problem with hip-hop, but now he wants to part of the solution. P will be the only rap artists testifying at today’s congressional hearing, “From Imus to Industry: The Business of Stereotypes and Degradation.” "I am not trying to take away anyone’s freedom of speech," P told the NY Daily News. "I’m concerned about the constant use of profanity. And it’s time to clean up hip hop in order to preserve it for the next generation. We need to clean up our lyrics, but not turn our backs on the entire hip-hop community because they’re not the problem. The artists are the puppets who are controlled by the puppeteers. It’s time for accountability. "I made mistakes and now I want to do better," said Miller. I am a businessman trying to prove that clean music sells. … You can keep it real and keep it clean without the cussin’." P recently released a curse-free album with his son Romeo as the Miller Boyz called “Hip-Hop History.” The congressional hearing is a discussion on the stereotypes and degradation in hip-hop.

By: Rizoh Former basketball star Dennis Rodman has stepped on the wrong side of the law again. The Orange County police department is investigating reports that Rodman, who once claimed to have slept with over 2000 women, smacked a female bar hopper’s rear so hard it left a mark. The incident took place at Hennessy’s Tavern in Dana Point, according to TMZ. The woman has accused the former NBA star of sexual battery. Rodman’s lawyer contends that the matter is one of “money extortion” and expressed optimism that the case will work out in the favor of his client.

By Quibian Salazar-Moreno Authorities who are investigating abuse and neglect allegations at DMX’s home in Phoenix, Arizona dug up carcasses of dead dogs and found disturbing evidence. Although cause of death is unknown, authorities found serious bite wounds on one of the dog carcasses, with serious trauma to the abdomen of another body. Another dog was burnt so badly that an exam was inconclusive. Last month, DMX’s home was raided after a neighbor complained of the treatment of the dogs at the home. They seized 12 live pit bulls, numerous weapons, and about a quarter-ounce of marijuana in a bedroom. DMX’s lawyer said that the rapper hadn’t been there in months and was paying a caretaker and vets to take care of his property and his dogs. "How do you attribute activities to a person who has not been there, when they have knowledge that other persons have been," X’x lawyer, Murray Richman told the Associated Press. "Is it because of the celebrity nature?"

By: Hot Gossip Gal People in high places and people who just know their history are a lil mad that Luda failed to omit the N word when performing Money Maker on stage at a recent concert for the Martin Luther King Memorial in DC. Known fact that MLK spent many years trying to omit the N word from people’s vocabularies. Should Luda have bit his tongue?
By: Rizoh Masked MC/producer MF Doom is rumored to be hospitalized for an undisclosed illness. Doom’s absence from the recently held New York-Tokyo Music Festival, for which he was slated to perform, as well as recent allegations that he’s been using doubles at live shows prompted several questions about the rapper’s well being. Though Doom’s label, Rhymesayers Entertainment, is yet to issue a formal announcement, concertgoers at the New York-Tokyo Music Festival were told the rapper couldn’t make it because he had been hospitalized. Doom was accused of deceit by his fans after he enlisted a double to pose as him and lip-synch at one of his concerts.
