The geniuses behind last year’s Grammy Nominated sleeper hit, “I’m On A Boat” hit YouTube Tuesday night to announce the release of their sophomore album.  The comedy rap trio The Lonely Island’s 2009 debut, Incredibad,  spawned several viral sensations including the T-Pain assisted “I’m A Boat,” “Like A Boss” (featuring Seth Rogan) and “Jizz In My Pants.”  The album also features a star-studded list of cameos ranging from Justin Timberlake to E-40 and featured production from underground producers J-Zone and DJ Nu-Mark.

The group consisting of SNL cast member Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and  Jorma Taccone have been at it since high-school, but caught their big break when Samberg joined Saturday Night Live and enlisted his associates to work on the comedy film Hot Rod.   Since then, Schaffer and Taccone have been called up to write for SNL and were influential in many of the beloved Digital Shorts.  Schaffer and Taccone appear in a video clip shown below, comically promoting the next Lonely Island project, which is due out in 2011.  If you fear that the untitled follow-up won’t live up to its predecessor, rest assured there’s a glimmer of hope, as the video ends with Taccone opening a song with the line, “hey yo my d*ck don’t work…that sh*t is soft…‘Nuff said.
