Featuring Lil Peep, Tory Lanez, Styles P, and more.
It’s the most wonderful time of the week: the industry’s designated drop day, commonly known as “New Music Friday.” While it would be reasonable to think that top artists and burgeoning acts alike would prefer to disperse releases throughout the week to optimize streams, hip-hop is a competitive sport — each artist is out here trying to prove why they deserve maximum attention. For today’s edition, we have drops from Tory Lanez, Lil Peep, Styles P, Iamsu!, and Boosie Badazz.
Tory Lanez kicks things off with his anticipated Chixtape 5 project, anchored by lead single, “Jerry Sprunger” featuring T-Pain. The fifth installment in his Chixtape series, which began in 2011, the latest iteration is the first in almost three-years, but is worth the wait. Joining Tory, in addition to the aforementioned T-Pain, is a wide assortment of guests: Jagged Edge, Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, Ludacris, The Dream, Lil Wayne, and more.
Next up, Lil Peep’s camp has graced us with his latest posthumous project, Everybody’s Everything. Following his eponymous documentary’s recent release, the new Peep album continues his legacy of brooding content that has been a pinnacle of support for those dealing with emotional scars. Friends and collaborators of Peep’s — including Lil Tracy and Makonnen — are featured, as well.
Styles P, Iamsu!, and Boosie have also come through with new projects: Presence, Boss Up V, Talk Dat Shit, respectively.
