New Jersey rapper Topaz Jones has been making big moves this last year after releasing his sophomore LP Hello My Name Is last summer. Since then he’s put out two music videos (“Shockamuni” and “Study Hall”) and performed alongside Mac Lethal, Blackbear, and Phony Ppl, to name a few. He’s also released a few tracks along the way including “MiamiNights” and “BlackDMNDS” produced by Thelonius Martin.

The rising sophomore at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music is also hard at work on his latest project, ’til Infinity, which will feature Topaz rapping over some of hip-hop’s greatest beats including Souls of Mischief’s “’93 ‘Til Infinity.” We got a chance to sit down with Topaz and discuss his relationship with producer Thelonius Martin, his affiliation with TastemakersNJ, ’til Infinity, and his love for 90’s hip-hop. Topaz even spit a few bars for the camera.
