This past July, Compton’s multi-hyphenate artist Buddy blessed us with his debut album, Harlan & Alondra. Coming in strong at 12-tracks deep, Buddy’s rookie release confirmed what his string of singles–like the hit song “Shine”–and EPs suggested: he thinks differently; he acts differently; he makes music differently. In the best way possible, Buddy is a different breed of artist.

While Harlan & Alondra by itself would’ve gone down as a prime inaugural project, Buddy saw this release as a sound investment, as a chance to capitalize on a beloved body of work. Today, in the spirit of “New Music Friday”, Buddy has come through with an amended version of Harlan & Alondra, featuring four new tracks.

Joining the original version’s featured artists–which include Ty Dolla $ign, Snoop Dogg, Guapdad 4000, A$AP Ferg, and Khalid–are a unique collection of guests, emblematic of Buddy’s endearing eccentricity; perhaps, most notably, a verse from the locked-up Wolf of Grape Street, 03 Greedo, on “Cubicle”. Additionally, JID, Bas, Kent Jamz, are featured on the deluxe edition.
