Fan favorite, Cardi B, has been enjoying an impressive ascension up hip-hop’s ranks. A stripper -turned reality TV star-turned rapper, Cardi captivated fans and the music world with her infectious breakout hit, “Bodak Yellow”, which greatly supplemented her fanbase, but, as happens too often, also garnered her fair share of haters: “She’s a one-hit-wonder” … “She’ll never be better than Nicki”. Cardi silenced those doubters with successful release after successful release, culminating in her incredible debut album, Invasion of Privacy. Cardi’s mantle has gotten a little more crowded, as she can add another trophy to her decorated collection.
One of the album’s standout cuts, “I Like It”, featuring J Balvin and Bad Bunny, has now officially gone platinum. Following, “Bodak Yellow”, “Be Careful”, and “Bartier Cardi”, “I Like It” is Carti’s fourth platinum record, and only projects an upcoming avalanche of success for the queen from the Bronx; she has not reached her destination–these are simply weigh stations. No one can ever slander Cardi, calling her a one-hit-wonder. This girl is a bonafide star.
