The Daily Dose

-I’ve been listening to this Lil Wayne song a lot in the past couple of days.  It’s off the “official” No Ceilings.  He actually mentions the track in one of his Ustreams as being one of his favorites.  I’ve been saying for a minute that I don’t really listen to Wayne anymore.  He’s just at that point in his career that he is so busy with everything except being creative.  I can’t really blame him for slippin.  That being said, a song like “Single” let’s me know Wayne hasn’t completely  lost it.   He can still be a good rapper.  That was reassuring to me.

-So Dame Dash linked up with rock group The Black Keys to create Blackroc.  I don’t understand why Dame gets to be part of the group for basically being an a&r, but what do I know.  Basically it’s rock type beats with rappers doing what rappers do.  In addition to Raekwon, Mos Def, Q-Tip, RZA, Ludacris, Pharoahe Monch, NOE, Nicole Wray, Billy Danze and Ol’ Dirty Bastard will also be making appearances.  The album hits stores 11/27.  Check out the other leak “Hoochie Coo” ft Mos Def & Jim Jones.  I like the Rae joint a lot better, but they both sound pretty dope.  Might have to check this project out.

-I’ve watched a couple of interviews with OJ, and he’s definitely not as retarded as he pretends to be.  Watch him secretly have an ivy league education, and this was just some elaborate case study on how much money an artist could make saying “eh” and “ok”.  Or not…

Skillz is one of those rappers that doesn’t get the credit he deserves, and he never will.  This track is off his Infamous Quotes album dropping December 1st.

-Another track that is off 50‘s Before I Self Desruct which has been bumped to November 16th, after the album leaked online.  “Stretch” is my favorite song off the album.  For some tracks with bigger names, and more “aggressive” content go here.  Some people are trying to say this album is good, but I thought it was pretty garbage.  Instead of me repeating the same things, go to this dose for my 50 Cent pep talk.

-This Kay Slay joint already came out, but he had to replace Plies, because apparently no one likes him.  But to quote The Drama King’s twitter.  “Plies does not respect the DJ or the hip hop culture?  He sh*tted on DJ Khaled, He sh*tted On DJ Drama, and now he trying me!!! FAIL!”  He followed up with “Plies does not respect the culture!!  He does the song, clears the song through the label, then hides for 3 weeks when it’s time to do his video part!”  Your move Algernod.  More Than A DJ hits stores December 8th.

Maino taking a shot at Drake.  I think Maino seems like a “real” dude.  He’s just not a great rapper even though this song is pretty good.  I’m not mad that he’s in hip-hop though.  It could be worse.

  1. i don’t matter how lil wayne has been going on right now. every artist needs to get some break. i think that when it comes to his piece, if it doesn’t really sounds good, maybe it is time for him to get a little time to focus more. maybe he is not so in condition at the moment.

  2. let’s not react that much why dame dash linked up with the black keys. will never know what the outcome could be. let’s just hang up and wait for it and then we’ll give our verdict.
