In an on air radio interview Miami’s true boss, Trick Daddy divulged that he has been suffering from Lupus, the same disease that took the life of J Dilla, for over 12 years. Trick Daddy who is said to be penning his book Magic City: Trials of a Native Son which will be published by MTV books was signed to notorious Miami based label Slip n Slide in 1996 where he he remained for 11 years leaving the label to set up his own Dunk Ryders.
Lupus is an incurable disease where the immune system attacks the body’s cells and tissues. Trick Daddy explained that the sun is his worst enemy “I am allergic highly to the sun, that’s my worst enemy. It’s like an AK-47 (gun) with a double clip on it.” Damn and living in Miami that has got to be hard.
