It’s been exactly almost one-year since Trippie Redd released his official debut album, Life’s A Trip. Home to cuts like “Dark Knight Dummo” and “How You Feel,” Redd’s rookie release continued the momentum generated from his A Love Letter To You mixtape series. Now, Trippie is ready to follow-up Life’s A Trip with his sophomore project, !, slated for an August 9th release.
A pivotal moment in Trippie’s young career, the sophomore album in artist past has typically been plagued by an inability to live up to its predecessor’s standards. Dubbed the “sophomore slump,” this curse has affected many before Trippie — and will continue to affect many after. However, the 20-year-old rapper is confident that he will elude this pitfall, and with the tracklist he recently released, it looks like odds are in his favor.
Joining Trippie on ! will be an assortment of talent — a reflection of who Trippie is as an artist: one who meshes varying genres to create his unique aesthetic — including: Playboi Carti, The Game, Lil Baby, Lil Duke, and his girlfriend, Coi Leray. Production will be handled by Murda Beatz, Diplo, OZ, Wheezy, Frank Dukes, and more.
In addition to revealing !’s tracklist, Trippie has given a taste of what’s to come by way of new single, “Mac 10” featuring Lil Baby and Lil Duke.
